Q.01

How do I reach the handyman line?

Call the number on this page, or text it with a photo of the job. The line is answered Monday to Saturday, about 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and texts go to the same number as calls.

Calling is the quickest way to describe a job and settle the details. Put the community name and the type of job in the first message, along with your name and a number to call back. Everything goes to the same line, so there is no need to send it twice. There is no storefront, and visits happen only at your home or business, so there is no address to look up.

Q.02

What happens after I call?

The line talks through the jobs, asks for photos if they help, and settles a time for the visit. The price is discussed on the call, and the work starts only when you agree to it.

A first call usually covers four things: what needs doing, where the home is, what you have already bought, and when you are free. If the job is a TV mount, the wall and the TV size come up. If it is a sliding door, the line asks how it fails. Photos fill the gaps and save a trip. Grouping several small jobs into one visit is encouraged, because it uses the visit well. Seasonal owners can say when they leave and return, and the line plans around it. Gate details and building rules are noted so the visit goes smoothly.

Q.03

What should I send in a photo?

Send a wide photo of the area and a close one of the problem, plus the brand or model if it is visible. A photo of the whole wall, door or fixture says more than a description.

For a TV mount, photograph the wall and where you sit. For a lock or door, take both sides and the edge. For a fan or light, send the fixture and the wall switch. For a faucet or toilet, photograph the shutoff valves under the fixture. For screens, send each torn panel and a wide shot of the lanai. For shutters, photograph the openings and the hardware. A short video helps when the problem is a sound or a motion, such as a disposal that hums or a slider that jumps. Keep the photos in focus, with the light on, and include the room in the frame.

Q.04

Which areas and hours does the line cover?

The line covers Naples, North Naples, Pelican Bay, Golden Gate, Marco Island and Bonita Springs, Monday to Saturday, about 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.. Sundays are closed, and a call left outside the hours waits for the next working day.

Home base is Naples, and the area runs from Pelican Bay and North Naples in the north, to Golden Gate in the east, and south over the Judge Jolley Bridge to Marco Island. Bonita Springs, just up US-41, is the northern limit. Each area has its own page with a map and notes on what the homes there need. Calls outside the six areas are not part of this line. Outside the hours above, a call can wait for the next working day. If you are a seasonal owner, plan the visit before you leave or after you return.

Put the list on a ticket before you call

Nothing is sent from this page. Fill in the ticket and it turns into one short message to read out on the call.

Have three things ready: the address or the community name with gate details, everything you want done, and a photo of anything you are unsure about.
